Accredited Court-Annexed Mediator for Family Matters

I am a practising attorney and director of D VAN WYK & ASSOCIATES INC. in Middelburg and an accredited Court-annexed Mediator for Family matters through the distinguished organization SAAM (Nabfam).

Furthermore, I am currently an associated member of the Mediation Society of South Africa (MSSA) and await my certificate of accreditation. Upon the issue of my accreditation certificate, I will be an accredited Court-annexed Mediator for civil matters (excluding RAF).

With over 36 years of legal experience, I have established myself within the legal fraternity with dedication and to navigate all matters, notwithstanding the complexity thereof, with precision and fairness.

I acted as Magistrate and was utilized as such as civil Magistrate in Middelburg for a number of years and I consider that my time as Magistrate placed me in an advantages position to ensure that justice is done. I was mainly utilised as the Civil Magistrate in Middelburg due to my experience and extensive knowledge of the civil law.

It is important to note that I have no knowledge whatsoever of RAF matters. I refrained from participating in RAF matters.


My practice consists mainly of High Court Litigation, Urgent applications, Divorces and Commercial matters.


Over the years in practice, I have mediated many divorce actions and large civil matters including matters in respect of access roads and water on farmland, lease agreements, Agreements of sale, property transactions and others.


As divorce attorney I specialised in the rights of children as contained in the Constitution and many articles have been published in newspapers as far as Australia in respect of my participation. Candidate attorneys in Australia are referred to the divorce matter of SMITH V SMITH and what should be expected of an attorney.
